What Makes the Volkswagen Touareg Unique, from State-of-the-Art VW Parts to its Design

As some may know, the Volkswagen Touareg was the company’s first official four-wheel drive SUV which was built in hopes of being the leader in SUV design. Introduced in 2004, this two and a half ton SUV is a heavy hitter in this growing SUV market with thanks to its innovative design and state-of-the-art VW Parts. But what makes this VW SUV so unique? Take a look.

1. The air suspension package which comes standard on the V-10 version works to automatically raise or lower your vehicle for ground clearance. It also regulates your speed under these road conditions and can be adjusted to control manually.

2. All models come with the “4Motion permanent all-wheel drive system” that evenly splits the torque between the rear and front axels. Depending on road conditions, it can shift up to 100% of the power to either one of the axels. It also includes low-range gearing which is extremely beneficial for off-roading.
3. The VW Touareg is the first SUV to offer two engines with more than just eight cylinders.

4. This SUV comes loaded with Volkswagen’s Intelligent Crash Response System which will automatically lock your doors in the event of a collision, disconnect its batter, and shut off the fuel supply with its high-powered components. It also calls OnStar directly following a crash.

5. While reducing emissions greatly, the 6-speed automatic transmission improves both acceleration and fuel economy.

6. This 6-speed transmission comes with a “sports shift” and a “regular” mode as well as an auto manual gate that allows drivers to choose their own gears.

7. This is a luxury sedan that can handle any off-road condition even with its uni-body frame.

8. All models offer awesome departure angles, some up to 34 degrees.

9. There is a built-in rechargeable flashlight added to the center console for convenience.

10. The Touareg comes with a “hill ascent” as well as “descent” feature that keeps you from rolling back on steep inclines and descending hills at a slower rate without wearing down your brakes.

11. The navigation system is CD based, which is readable on all of the continental US and fixes its errors faster than most GPSs can.
