Lamborghini Jota: More intel!

Lamborghini Jota

Here’s more intel about the Lamborghini Jota.

The firm’s next-generation flagship – which has yet to be given a name – is likely to retain the same four-wheel drive layout as the current car, and use an all-new V12 engine producing as much as 700bhp. That’s a gain of more than 10 per cent on the outgoing model.

The new car is understood to have a carbonfibre tub as Lamborghini tries to shave weight from the Murciélago’s 1740kg bulk. Judging from the disguise on this test car, the exterior styling includes some of the angular panel surfacing that is expected to feature so prominently on the firm’s Paris concept, so far only seen in a succession of teaser images.

We found a must-see video of a 1100 bhp Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV throwing flames. Nuff’ said!

take the lightweight, hyper-fast Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV and throw a pair of turbos at it. Run it up to about 150 mph, then come off the gas. Instant three-foot flames. Brilliant.

This teaser video shows us the handiwork of Underground Racing’s twin-turbo conversion for the LP670-4 SV, and though we don’t get anything in the way of stats or equipment lists, we’re not complaining. The audio and video of this madman’s creation are enough to slake the thirst for awesome while whetting the appetite for meatier details.

Lamborghini Jota: 2nd teaser shows V10 hint, sports car manifesto released

Lamborghini Jota

Lamborghini has released the second teaser for the successor of the Lamborghini Murcielago as well as a sports car manifesto.

Weight. It’s the enemy of all sports car enthusiasts, and the necessary accompaniment to almost every new regulation, whether it originates with safety or fuel economy in mind. Lamborghini can’t change the global political climate, so it’s changing the way it builds its cars. The solution? More carbon fiber. Lots more.

According to Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Lamborghini, the average weight of the company’s cars has increased by 1,100 pounds since the mid-1980s, due almost entirely to additive regulations. Obviously safety can’t be sacrificed, nor can performance, so the only answer is less weight.

Lamborghini: 4th teaser for new model released

Lamborghini

Lamborghini has released the 4th teaser for one of their new models rumored to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.

Originally, we thought Lambo was simply teasing its new Jota supercar – the replacement for the aging Murciélago. However, further reports indicated that Lamborghini would be unveiling two new cars in Paris: the Jota, as well as a mystery car only known internally as “83X.” To add to the confusion, a later report from Auto Guide stated that we wouldn’t be seeing the highly anticipated Jota. Instead, a new technology concept would take the stage, crushing our highest hopes of some supercar hotness.
