New Porsche 911 Turbo Unveiled
The Porsche 911 Turbo is back with more power and speed than ever. The new car is lighter compared to the old version.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo is powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-litre engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A 7-speed dual-clutch PDK is comes as an optional with larger clutches and revised ratios compared with the unit used in other 911s. Moreover, the variable-vane twin turbochargers have been reworked for better performance. In addition, the intercooler and the fuel system have been upgraded to give a massive horsepower of 493bhp.
German luxury car maker Porsche has made the Turbo engine more strong and powerful. This takes the driving comfort to a next level. The Turbo engine gets a major overhaul from Porsche Traction Management system, which distributes the torque between the front and rear wheels through an electronically controlled multiple-plate clutch. With extra throttle adjustability and a more rearward power bias in the new car, the Porsche 911 Turbo becomes sportier to drive. An electronic damping system is a standard feature in the new Porsche 911 Turbo. It promises to deliver good fuel economy.
The supercar stands on forged alloy wheels, which is standard fit on all 911 Turbos. The lightweight 19 inch RS Spyder rims will be available as an option on the new car.
The Porsche 911 gets proper paddle shifters to change gears in PDK models for the first time. The paddle shifters are mounted to the back of the steering wheel. The steering wheel also houses a display showing when Sport, Sport Plus and launch control have been selected through the optional Sport Chrono package. The 911 Turbo can hit 0- 100 km/h within 4 seconds with PDK and top speed rises by 2mph, to 194mph.
The Porsche 911 Turbo is a two-seater luxury car that presents the perfect blend of style and performance. The 911 Turbo is very similar to 911 Carrera, in terms of its exteriors. Porsche 911 Turbo is the coupe variant, while the convertible model is known as Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
