How To Install Audi A4 Navigation
Today, I am going to talk something about installation of Audi A4 navigation.
First of all, I’d like say something about the Factory OEM car GPS. As we all know, there is built in CANBUS within the factory headunit of Audi A4. The CANBUS controls all the inter-change information within the car. For example, the steering wheel control, and the fuel consumption display on the small LCD on the top of the head unit. As far as I know, few manufacturers in China can solve the problem of CANBUS, that is to say, they can not produce a car navigation special for Audi A4 without losing the original functions, steering wheel controls, info display on the small LCD, ect.. But there is one manufacturer in China can do it-Flyaudio. After intallation of car navigation from Flyaudio, with the built-in CAN BUS, it allows microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within your car. All the speed buttons on the steering wheel will still work, enabling you to control volume, select radio stations and music tracks.
To better illustrate what I am saying, here is a picture taken after installation of the car navigation.
Now you believe what I said.
But I also see lots of cutomers buying Audi A4 GPS at a very cheap price. It seems that they so enjoy the product. Well it’s alright without the display of information on the small LCD and steering wheel control. However, for me, that’s really unacceptable. I will feel really unconfortable at the very sight of that useless LCD there.
Now, let’s get back to our topic. How to install an Audi A4 navigation? Please follow these pictures to take a tour. If you buy the unit in our store, we will give the all the tools appearing in the following pictures.
First of all, use the special car audio removal keys to remove the factory stereo in the dashboard. Insert fours keys into the gap between the stereo and dashboard, then pull out all the keys to get the stereo out. See following picture
Second, unplug the cable behind the stereo, and take away the head unit.
Third, plug the special cable we offer you(If you don’t buy the special car navigation for Audi A4, you have to cut and join the wires by yourselves), and install the bracket around the head unit.
Fourth, put the head unit into the rabbet.
Ok, by now, you’ve finished the whole installation.
Here I would like to emphasize the important points.
First, CANBUS, without this function built in the unit, you even can not listen to music after installation of the new head unit.
Second, cable. If you don’t buy special car navigation for Audi A4, you have to cut and join all the wires following a diagram of Audi A4. If you can not professional, you will find it really difficult to make it.
