The Audi Driving Experience was at Zevenwacht wine estate, near Cape Town, for a few days to show owners – and potential owners – just what the new three-litre diesel Audi Q7 can do in serious off-road conditions. Most were amazed – the rest only awed.Frankly, I was surprised, too. Usually, when any automaker launches a R600 000 MPV such as the Q7 to the motoring media, the vehicles rarely stray off the tar – and, if they do, it’s only on to a modest dirt road. Zevenwacht’s mountainside tracks, rocks and deep sand are much more than that.
