4×4 News: The Award For Most Secure 4×4 Goes To

4x4s haven’t just got greener, faster and safer over the years – they’ve also got a whole lot more secure, according to CarsUK.MSN.com, with the Land Cruiser V8 proving impenetrable in the large 4×4 category. Known for their mean machine status it’s no surprise 4x4s are biting back against theft – and given the sheer size of the Toyota Land Cruiser V8, who’s going to argue with it?

Commenting on the Toyota’s success, Thatcham’s Mike Briggs said, “Car manufacturers can be proud of what has been achieved in recent years in terms of security”, which just emphasises the reason Toyota won the safety and security award in the large 4×4 category at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards.

In second place is the Audi Q7, which doesn’t just look the part, but also acts the part. According to AudiUSA.com, “The Q7 perfectly blends efficiency, practicality and luxury into a vehicle that thrives on performance”, and more importantly security. Dramatic contours and elegant aesthetic features make it standout from the crowd, which is why it could be a prime target for eager eyed thieves. However these criminals are no match for this metal marvel, with all its secure mod cons including vehicle anti-theft via alarm and engine immobilizer.

Winner of the compact 4×4 category was the Audi Q5. Following on from the success of the Q7, the Q5 takes the original security features and mimics them with the creation of this more compact 4×4 – making it something quite remarkable. Audi.co.uk have revealed that intelligent technology and design are just two of the elements that make up the innovative safety and security that the Audi Q5 boasts, and are the main reasons that this 4×4 was the winner of most secure compact 4×4.
